Senior Product Manager
Expanding communication software startup is looking for agile, innovative product managers to take responsibility in defining future products and new features for its high availability and manageability software suite.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers, sales, and engineering team.
- Collect and analyze requirements, using market studies, customer query/feedback.
- Perform competitive analysis.
- Prioritize requirements.
- Formulate product feature and timing. requirements (road-map) with 1-2 years look-ahead.
- Communicate requirements to engineering both in written (Product Requirement Documents) and oral forms (meetings and conference calls).
- Define use cases and exit criteria for development and testing.
- Follow-through with product development cycle from requirement formulation to product deployment (full product ownership).
- Overall, ensure that company delivers the desirable product with best timing with given resources.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree in a quantitative field.
- 8+ years of work experience in software development in the communication, embedded, or data center market.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Good analytical skills (collect and analyze market data, distill it into trends, requirements).
- Proven capability to express requirements in crisp technical specifications.
- Excellent learning capabilities.

Senior Software Engineer
Expanding medium size communication software startup is looking for energetic, innovative, multi-skilled software engineers for its Technical Product Management team and Demo Lab in Petaluma CA.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in long term development projects.
- Work on short and medium size projects related to the validation, demonstration, and enhancements of our flagship manageability and high availability software suite.
- Validate our software suite in a variety of system settings.
- Port open source and 3rd-party applications to our software suite.
- Define, develop, and maintain complete demonstration and reference systems.
- Adapt our software suite to a number of embedded hardware and OS platforms.
- Participate and/or lead customer-specific enhancement projects.
- Develop software prototypes for concept validation.
- Run software demonstrations for customers and at trade shows.
- Have the capability to define and execute above projects.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of work experience in software development.
- Outstanding programming skills in C, and preferably in other languages such as Python, Java, and/or C++.
- Proficient in Linux/Unix environments, including scripting, build tools, code revision systems, kernel programming and build.
- Experience with LAN network configuration and system management.
- Experience with rapid prototyping.

Bonus:
- Familiarity with Linux distributions (Red Hat, Fedora, Gentoo, Debian, MontaVista) and package management.
